It’s been just over two years since Panic introduced its throwback handheld gaming system, Playdate, which has more in common with a Game Boy than a Steam Deck Come from Sports betting site VPbet. That discovery may be why thieves dumped over $400,000 worth of stolen Playdate handhelds in front of a random restaurant with little fanfare.
Panic’s official account on X revealed the incident and shared photos of the recovered handhelds. According to Panic, the shipment was delivered at the wrong address by FedEx before thieves scooped them up and later left them behind.

Read moreAmerican sportsbetting giant FanDuel Group has announced its entry into another domestic market following yesterday’s premiere of a new retail sportsbook within the Kansas Star Casino venue operated by Boyd Gaming Corporation.
The New York-headquartered firm used an official Wednesday press release to detail that the Kansas move comes some five months after local legislators passed a measure so as to allow the state’s four commercial casinos to start hosting sportsbooks. The behemoth also pronounced that the fresh 2,100 sq ft sportsbetting enterprise for ‘The Sunflower State’ serves ‘as a one-stop-shop for fans to enjoy sporting events while placing wagers on the action’ at any time of the day or night and has debuted complete with four betting windows alongside 20 sel…

Read moreFrench game studio Don’t Nod has announced plans for a “reorganization project” that could result in the layoff of up to 69 workers. The French union that represents Don’t Nod workers, STJV (Le Syndicat des Travailleurs et Travailleuses du Jeu Vidéo), called the plans “the climax of a series of catastrophic decisions,” that it detailed in a statement earlier this year.
While the plans are still being negotiated between Don’t Nod and STJV, the union has a new statement that denounces them entirely and claims upper management has ignored employee concerns for months.
“Workers’ representatives at Don’t Nod have been raising alarms for more than a year about the company’s economic situation, which is the reason cited to justify the layoffs,” it writes.…
Read moreNvidia’s (relatively) keenly priced new RTX 40-series Super graphics cards are having the desired effect. Desired effect, that is, from our perspective because AMD is responding with unofficial price cuts to its Radeon RX 7000-series GPUs. Cue the lowest ever price on the Radeon RX 7900 XT, now available for $699 at Newegg. It had been available for the same price at Amazon, but it appears to have sold out as I write these very words.
That new price for the RDNA 3 card slides it in neatly between the $799 Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super and the $599 RTX 4070 Super. Which then begs the immediate performance comparison question. To be honest it does rather depend on the games you play, but overall and on average, the 7900 XT is usually a whisker faster for plain old raster rendering …
Read moreDespite ranking among history’s least necessary remasters, the prettied-up re-do of Horizon Zero Dawn has been earning plaudits from testers. Ours included, actually. PCG hardware guru Nick Evanson was impressed by what he saw when he took the Horizon remaster for a spin, calling it the “best version of Horizon Zero Dawn it could possibly be, short of a full remake.” I admit it: in spite of myself, I kind of want to drop the £10 on the upgrade just to see.
But maybe I should wait, because in the wake of its launch yesterday, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is currently sitting at a “Mixed” user-review score over on Steam. Some fans are loving it, mind you—61% of reviews are positive—but it looks like the experience is pretty variable depending on your har…
